Prof. (Miss) Harshwanti Bisht who was elected as a new president of IMF.
Her major achievement is as below,
1995- Successfully raised the plant nursery of Birch (Betula utilis) at Chirbasa, at an altitude of 11700 ft., on the way to Gaumukh, from where river Ganga emerges. This project was financed by Uttarakhand Seva Nidhi, Almora.
1996- Successfully done the afforestation of Birch at Bhojbasa at an altitude of 12500 ft. (on the way to Gaumukh from where Ganga emerges). Planted 15,500 Birch saplings and the survival rate is 65 percent. Today the forest is fully grown.

2-Participated in Himawanti Conference in Nepal, 1999
3-Participated as the leader of Indian contingent of youths for Cross Cultural Mountain Conservation, Matsumotu, Japan, 2001
